The Somaly Mam Foundation recently held the “Brave is Beautiful” charity event at the Hudson Terrace in NYC to continue the fight to end modern slavery. The event was a success raising up to $30,000 that night.Somaly Mam is a human rights activist and a survivor of sex slavery. Due to her personal story, her resilience, courage and fierce determination, she is a luminous star in the movement of abolition advocates. What I admire about Somaly is her ability to dedicate her life to being hands to her work and make a difference in the lives of many young women.

I had the honor to present a beautiful avant garde body painting, with model Emilia Grabowska, at the event dipicting the beauty of the Cambodian culture, inspirations of hope, empowerment, love and also the breaking free of the chains of modern slavery amongst women in that part of the world. I also had a great time working with Judy Pham and many more talented people at the event!
